"UAE end-of-service gratuity accrues at 21 days of basic wage per year for the first five years of service and 30 days per year thereafter, capped at two years total wage. An employee on AED 10,000 basic with 8 years of service accrues 195 days, or AED 65,000."

Basic wage only: housing, transport and other allowances are excluded from the calculation, so gratuity is well below what a gross salary suggests.
Under Federal Decree-Law 33/2021 resignation no longer reduces the entitlement, the old one-third and two-thirds reductions for early resignation were abolished in February 2022.
No gratuity accrues below one year of continuous service, and unpaid leave does not count towards the service period.
