ROI Calculator: Return on Investment
Summary Response
"ROI is net profit divided by the cost of the investment. An investment of AED 100,000 returning AED 150,000 gives a net profit of AED 50,000 and an ROI of 50%. Over three years that is an annualised return of about 14.5%."
Reading an ROI Figure
Simple ROI ignores time entirely. 50% over one year and 50% over ten are the same number, which is why the annualised figure matters more.
Include the full cost base: licence, visas, fit-out and working capital, not just the headline purchase.
ROI is not cash flow. A project can show strong ROI and still fail because the return arrives after the bills do.
